Never be afraid to question other people. Always be wary of anyone who tries to prevent you from questioning. Protect your freedom and autonomy.

Learn to recognize common recruitment tactics and situations, beware of:

  • People who are excessively or inappropriately friendly; there are few genuine instant friendships.

  • People who are very persistent in trying to get you to join, and won’t take no for answer.

  • People with invitations to free meals, lectures, and workshops

  • People who demand secrecy from you.

  • People who make you feel like there’s something wrong with you if you’re not interested in joining.

  • People with simplistic answers or solutions to complex world problems.

  • People who try to play on your guilt; you don’t always have to reciprocate a kindness, especially when it may have been a way to manipulate you

  • People who are vague or evasive.  If they are hiding something, it’s usually because they don’t want you to know the real answer.

  • People who claim to be just like you, so you feel you have a lot in common.

  • People who confidently promise that they can help you solve your problems, especially when they know little about you

  • People, who make grand claims about how their group can save mankind, help you achieve enlightenment or show the road to happiness.

  • People who always seem happy

  • People who claim they or their group is really special, even the most special

  • People who promise quick solutions to difficult problems

  • People who put down reason and critical thinking, and tell you not to ask questions about the group – just open your mind to it.

Former Jehovah Witness Goes Undercover To Rescue Her Daughter

Nancy Sage was devoted Jehovah Witness for 40 years. Her husband was an elder for 15 years. While in the church, they noticed many discrepancies within the leadership….mainly that they had become corrupt.

In 1983 they decided to resign from the church. However, their daughter remained a devout follower.

What happened next is a story that took years of devotion, and a mother’s love for her daughter. Molestation, deception, and treachery is what her daughter faced while encapsulated in the organization, and she wasn’t allowed to talk to her  mother since they had left the church.

Nancy decided to go  to Tennessee to rescue her daughter, but never got to her see her. However, a local newspaper got wind of her story and learned how she was being denied access to see her daughter, and ran the following article on Mother’s Day.

Examiner article for Nancy Sage

The article produced an upset with the local community, which put pressure on the church, and made even more difficult to reach her daughter.

What Nancy did next can only be described as a mother’s love for her daughter….listen to the interview below to hear the details.

New Feature Film Documentary – Growing Up in Jehovah Witness

A new feature length documentary – Truth Be Told is said to debut on March 27th at Cobble Hill Cinemas located in Brooklyn Heights. The theater is located in a neighborhood occupied by large numbers of Jehovah Witness followers and is about 2 miles from the headquarters of The Watchtower Organization.

The Watchtower Organization has been experiencing a mass exodus of it’s members over the past several years and the producers aim to “lift the veil on the seemingly benign Jehovah’s Witnesses religion to expose a profit-driven, isolationist culture characterized by fear, totalitarian corporate leadership, intellectual and spiritual intimidation, suspension of critical thinking, failed prophecies, doctrinal inconsistency and improper handling of physical and sexual abuse allegations within the church.”

This organization sounds more and more like Scientology to me.

It looks like a great documentary, check out this 3 minute trailer.
